Tuilleadh Fiosrachadh
- Sustainability is a key concern for artists and arts organisations across Scotland. It is hoped this programme will bring benefit to artist’s practice, communities and the environments in which they live and work. It has been designed in response to sector needs identified by Creative Scotland and Social Enterprise Academy. We are welcoming learners from across Scotland to the programme to explore these themes, looking at what is already working, how to sustain this and identifying what needs to change and how to make this happen.
Who is it for?
This is a two-day enterprising programme for eight Gaelic speaking artists within in the Gaelic Arts Sector in Scotland, regardless of whether you are self-employed or work for a local or national organisation. The programme will be delivered entirely through the medium of Gaelic.
Your Facilitator: Anne Martin
Anne has travelled extensively in both hemispheres of the world, as a performer and with the family but feels very privileged to be able to work and play in her home community of north Skye. Some of her career highlights have been: Singer on The Storr – Unfolding Landscape, Music Director and Organiser of Ceol on the Cròft 2014 and 2015, PRS New Music Awardee 2017, Cultural Lab at the Yirramboi First Nation Festival in Melbourne 2017, “Airtime Meets Cryptic Workshops 2018”, Sonica Festival of contemporary and sonic music 2022 and developing the much acclaimed An Tinne Project as part of 2022 Year of Stories. Programme Details
Day 1 - 18 June 2025 | Latha 1 - 18 An t-Ògmhios 2025
By the end of this day you will have :
- Learned from the knowledge and experience of others on the learning programme
- Reviewed your current ways of working in the light of current funding realities
- Reviewed your activities and their fit with the changing needs of customers and beneficiaries
- Used appropriate tools as a lens to filter/review current and future activities
- A basic understanding of an enterprising mindset and it’s context for day 2
Day 2 - 19 June 2025 | Latha 2 - 19 An t-Ògmhios 2025
By the end of the session you will have:
- Explored different sources of finance for growth
- Learned from the knowledge and experience of others on the learning programme
- Developed the use of growth tools and have had the opportunity to sense-check ideas and get support/feedback from peers
- Explored partnership working and what you need to consider to develop new partnerships
- Reviewed some, and learned from, current partnerships and identified what you need to do to form productive partnerships in the future
- Created a plan for your next steps
Delivery Method: This programme will be delivered using Zoom. Both days of the programme will be a combination of live, facilitated sessions and some self-directed learning and reflection activities.
Timing: 10am - 4pm (with Regular Breaks)
Cost: Fully funded by the Scottish Government through Creative Scotland
