Place-based approaches recognise that each community is unique - having a distinct culture, economy, geography and range of stakeholders and opportunities. There is then no ‘one size fits all approach’, but rather a set of tools and skills that need to be adopted in schools are to engage as equal partners with ‘places’ and communities.
