Social Enterprise Masterclass
- Social enterprises are businesses that trade for a social purpose. They make a profit, but use this to improve communities or the environment.
Wide Horizons Ullapool is a week-long experience, to find out more about your own strengths, skills and how social enterprise might help you do what you want to do. Based at the Ullapool Youth Space, you will have a lot of fun in a relaxed atmosphere. You will get to visit some exciting social enterprises in Inverness – such as the Kart Raceway – and find out how social enterprises are making a difference in Ullapool too.
During this programme, you will:
- Understand your own strengths and develop skills that are valued by employers
- Gain a practical and in-depth understanding of social enterprise
- Have a lot of fun!
- Enjoy ‘hands-on’ visits to social enterprises like the Kart Raceway
- Gain a City & Guilds qualification, that doesn’t involve a lot of books or paperwork.
Who is it for?
This programme is designed for senior phase pupils, looking to gain new skills and experience in a supportive and friendly working environment. No previous knowledge of social enterprise is required.
