The Glenkens - Vissioning Sessions
Local people are invited to share their experiences, thoughts and ideas for the land around them in a series of facilitated sessions, culminating in a final connecting session with representatives from the RLUPs pilots in their area. The sessions will explore ways to help tackle climate change and encourage nature through land use, identify sustainable land-based priorities and opportunities for local people, and give voice to the communities’ needs and wishes through developing a shared vision for future land use.
The five local programmes follow on from two very well attended webinars entitled ‘Lighting a Spark’, where guest speakers and attendees shared their experiences, ideas and understanding of using land to address shared challenges such as securing local employment, addressing climate change and halting the loss of nature.
The sessions will focus on delivering the following local outputs:
Participants will work up and agree a land use vision for the Glenkens area which builds on works undertake to date and compliments the Community Action Plan. Secondly, participants will identify and discuss how to overcome challenges to delivering this vision, and present their vision and thoughts on its delivery to the RLUP stakeholders.
Who is it for?
Registration is now open to anyone living or working in the Glenkens. No experience or prior knowledge of rural issues is necessary, the partners are keen to listen to the ‘less heard voices’ in the communities and encourage people who don’t normally engage in this type of exercise to come along and share their views.
