  • Learning to Change the World

    Social enterprise is an ethical model of business that combines the best of entrepreneurship with clear and purposeful social aims.

    This workshop, led by a social entrepreneur, provides a great introduction to social enterprise in education and explains how primary, secondary and pupils with additional support needs can get involved in Moray's 2023 Social Enterprise Schools Dragons' Den!  

    Whilst exploring examples, school staff gain an understanding of social enterprise and discover how they can support young people to develop their entrepreneurial and employability skills by setting up their own social enterprise.  

    Schools that enter the Dragons' Den have the chance to win some seed funding from the dragons!

      • In addition, by attending this CPD event, you will find out more about Social Enterprise Schools, how to access the fully funded support and resources and also how to book a pupil workshop to help your young people bring their ideas to Moray's Social Enterprise Schools Dragons' Den.

        Participating schools will go on to win a Social Enterprise Schools Award and be invited to attend our Marketplace and Awards event in June!

      Who is it for?

      This will be open to teachers and Education Practitioners of all stages (and others working in education) across Moray Council, who are keen to develop an understanding of social enterprise. Thanks to the support of the Scottish Government, we are able to deliver this workshop at no cost.

          We are once again delighted to be working in partnership with DYW Moray to provide young people (nursery, primary, secondary and ASN schools) with a transformative learning opportunity.  Could your social enterprise idea convince the dragons?  Come along to present your ideas, answer some questions, receive some feedback and be in with the chance to win funding.  Through doing this, young people will develop key employability skills whilst aspiring to affect ongoing social change in their communities and beyond.
